Estudió la licenciatura en Ciencias de la Comunicación en el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), México, y una maestría en Escritura para Cine y Televisión en la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB), España. Obtuvo el apoyo del 16° Programa de Estímulo a la Creación y al Desarrollo Artístico (PEDCA-FONECA), otorgado por el Consejo Nacional de Arte (CONARTE) en el rubro de Jóvenes Creadores, Nuevo León, México, para la creación de su cortometraje de ficción Bajo cualquier cielo (2008). Esta obra formó parte de la Selección Oficial del 6° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM), del 16° Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de Santiago (FIDOCS), Chile, y del 2° Festival Internacional de Cine y Foro de Derechos Humanos de México DHFest. Ganó el 2° Concurso de Guiones de Cortometraje Nuevo León por su guión Los animales también mueren de tristeza (2008).
